This template should be placed at the top of a page you think should be deleted with community consensus. Before starting a Request for deletion, first check to see if the article is a candidate for speedy deletion. If it is, use {{D|Reason}} instead.

This template adds pages to Category:Requests for deletion.

Please discuss this nomination at this template's entry at Requests for deletion. Do not remove this tag until this issue has been resolved.

If the template parameter exists, it will instead show a small notification about an RfD, useful for when a template has been nominated.
