This category contains images related to images that are saved in an animated GIF image format, or are derived from animated GIF images. Because of the colour indexing used by this format, Old School RuneScape screenshots saved or derived from animated GIF tend to have a low quality as the format only supports 256 colours and often appears coarse-grained due to the dithering process. The image should therefore be replaced.

This category also contains GIF derived images which are limited to only 256 colour on a limited palette, this is not normally an issue for still images however animated images are unable to properly render Old School RuneScape's texture shading and rendering. This category is automatically added by Template:Gif.
