The Hydra has 300 hitpoints and will attack you with range, and melee if you stand in melee range. His range attacks will poison you. He can hit you up to 25 damage so be cautious! Ranging the Hydra from a distance will make this fight a walk in the park, but using melee isn't to hard either.
